Device compliance tests are essentially independent of the operating system environment and other devices. If compliance testing has been previously completed, it need not be repeated.
The compliance tests applicable to devices are:
IAPC power management, which is to be performed in accordance with http://www.usb.org/developers/data/iapc_pm.pdf
Power consumption requirements, which is to be performed in accordance with http://www.usb.org/developers/data/currentDraw.pdf
Device framework (Chapter 9 tests) in accordance with http://www.usb.org/developers/data/usbcomp.exe, including HIDview testing if applicable.
Signal quality in accordance with http://www.usb.org/developers/data/usbsignalquality.pdf
The USB-IF compliance tests verify that a device responds correctly USB device commands, and any failures or other problem indications must be resolved before continuing with later tests.
